Kno, a tablet for college, to debut at $599


We already know that the Kno, a tablet computer designed for college students, would be bigger and heavier than Apple’s iPad. It will also be pricier, says Miguel Helft, blogger for the Times’ Bits. Kno, a Silicon Valley start-up, said late Monday that its single-screen entry-level 14-inch tablet computer will sell for $599. The dual-screen model, which the company showcased first, will cost $899. Both are available for a limited number of orders with delivery promised at a still undefined date before the end of this year, the company said. With Apple’s iPad, the current gold standard in tablets, starting at $499, the Kno tablets aren’t cheap. But then again, it depends what you are comparing it to…
